The latest song by Japanese Rock-pop band Beat Crusaders is made using elements from LittleBigPlanet - both in-game and some weirdy beardy renders.
The band, who commonly mask their faces with drawings resembling themselves as printed by a dot-matrix printer, appear in this one as Sackboys wearing the same masks. Their song, Phantom Planet, was used in one of the Japanese promos for the game, and is quite funky dontchathink?
The Planetoid has seen that the Japanese Little Big Planet site has been updated with details of next weeks LBP costume DLC, released on December 18th.
Like the EU and U.S DLC, Japanese Little Big Planet gamers were this week given the first part of a free santa outfit made up of boots and trousers, with the classic hat and beard combo arriving separately next week. But their site also reveals additional content landing at the same time…
A mystery sackboy is shown all wrapped up (we at first thought the costume might actually be a wrapped up sackboy, but that’s a bit hopeful), at the fairly regular price of ¥300. So there is definitely some regular paid-for DLC coming our way.
Another festive sackboy is shown, dressed up as a tree with a glowing light at the top. Repeat: A GLOWING LIGHT.
The page does not show a price next to this fella, so we’re hoping he’s free, and we expect to see him landing in the EU and US at the same time on December 18th.
We’ll update you with more info about what that mystery costume is as soon as we get it. Elf, perhaps? Rudolph? Nothing would surprise us here at the Planetoid…

There is now a confirmation that the Festive Goodies pack will be available next week, with stickers, decorations and costumes!
The Japanese PlayStation Store has been updated with new free Little Big Planet DLC. Just the one costume for our Japanese freinds this week - and it looks like it’ll be exclusive to Japan (at least, that’s our assumption).
Todays update sees a little Japanese warrior style costume arrive. Well, we think this character might be some sort of well known character in Japanese culture (a popstar perhaps?) but we’re not quite sure, at least until the first translations start trickling through…. The costume is the winning entry from the Japanese Costume Contest.
We’re still waiting for the official word on those awesome Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix costumes that have been confirmed by Capcom. Expect some more news on those later today, gadders.

We’ve downloaded this from the Japanese PS Store on to our EU PS3 with our PAL copy of Little Big Planet. Like most DLC, it seems you will need a copy of the game from the same region as the DLC. So, unless you’ve got a Japanese copy of the game - this won’t be available to you unless it’s released on your PS Store.

This costume will be available globally from today on the EU and U.S PlayStation Stores.
