Problems with your LittleBigPlanet Save? Here’s how you can help!

Jan 16th 2009 - 5:04 PM

Senior Community Development Manager, Sam_Protagonist, has today announced how you can help fix the saving problems in LittleBigPlanet.

Many players have recently had problems saving their progress in LittleBigPlanet. Media Molecule have been working on fixes for this issue for some time and are now providing a chance for players to help squash the bugs once and for all. By sending in game save data, players can help Media Molecule to thoroughly QA and test the latest fixes for the game.

If you have either of the following problems:

  1. Profile won't load and the game quits to XMB with no message. Other profiles load and the affected profile can be loaded as another player, just not the main player.
  2. You get a "Failed to load level" message on a level on your moon, even if you're offline.

...then jump on board the help boat and set sail for treasure in patch bay.

Sam says:

We'd like some more problem saved games to help us test our fixes, so if you have experienced these problems & you still have the save game please send your save data to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) (please do not use this address for anything other than sending saved games through). ow to get Save Data off your Playstation 3 and send it to us
  1. Connect a removable memory device into your PS3; such as a USB Memory stick, External Hard Drive, PSP, Flash Memory Card
  2. On the XMB go to the ‘Game’ menu and scroll to the ‘Save Data’ folder.
  3. Enter the ‘Save Data’ folder and scroll to your LittleBigPlanet save file.
  4. Press Triangle and select Copy.
  5. Select to Copy your data to the memory device connected to your Playstation 3.
  6. Once the copy has completed, back out to the top level of the XMB and remove the memory device connected to your Playstation 3.
  7. Connect the memory device to your computer.
  8. Compress (zip/rar) the PS3 folder that was created, and attach it to an email. OR Enter the folders \PS3\SAVEDATA\BCUS98148 and attach the 5 files in the last folder to an email.

Possible fix for MGS pack game saving problem

Dec 25th 2008 - 5:35 PM

Many happy gadders have been having not-so-happy holiday problems with their shiny new MGS Premium Level Packs, downloaded from the PlayStation Store.
Many reports have come in from players whose games are not saving, with progress being lost when the game is quit.

Community member Greatest_Caution, over on the LittleBigWorkshop Forums, has pointed out a possible fix for this problem. By simply deleting some of your extra save data, such as costumes or community content, your game will be able to save.

This would appear to be due to the fact that there is a limit on the size of game save data, which includes costumes, custom stickers, community objects and levels.
So, if you have this problem, remove some of your more superfluous data and with any luck, your progress on the MGS levels will then begin saving again as normal.

We can’t 100% verify this fix, as - well, we don’t have the problem. Let us know in the comments if it works for you.
