April 2nd has arrived, and with it the truth, no more fooling – I’m simultaneously happy and sorry to say that it is all true: This site will be ‘closing down’ and we really do have jobs at Media Molecule.
We’ll be updating our new home with some introductions shortly, and have plans in the pipeline for all the ways to improve and have fun with the LittleBigPlanet Community, and beyond. There are various things we need to set in motion, move over, archive, change, or fix up. We may not update the news here again very much, but keep your eye on our twitter feed – We’ll keep that updated when we can, and possibly rename it and make it official. Maybe. We’re just transitioning into our new jobs, learning all the secret things, meeting all the cool folks and signing legal documents; so updates might be slow at first. When we get into the swing of things, you can expect a steady stream of information to come flowing forth!

Well that sucks, I just got LBP a week ago and learnt that this site was an amazing source of information. I am happy for you guys, but as I have learnt from this kind of thing happening previously with another game, the updates become more infrequent and boringly “Official”. Now you will forced to hiding leaked news, as it is now your job now to protect this information.
It’s great that you guys are part of MM, but I hope you will still be able to do everything that you were doing all this while.

So basically of the 100+ fansites (mostly junky) out there, this, which I personally told you, was the best one created and maintained, EVER!
I guess Media Molecule agreed with me and the MANY other FANS and saw your passion and talent for creating a professional looking website that rivaled theirs, and truly, had more content and updates than Media Molecule and LittlebigWorkShop combined.
Some questions I have:
Will you be continuing your “blog” style news and features on the Media Molecule website, LittleBigWorkshop, or a new domain with the same “breaking news/rumors” style and constant updates?
I hate what “Sack-It-To-Me” has become, which is more of a general advertisement of weekly releases than the original purpose of answering LBP community gamers FAQ’s, which was only done on the first few postings.
I almost feel like we lost our best chance of hearing LBP news ahead of schedule. And now you will be under the confidentially policies of Media Molecule.
Can you tell us the timeline of events and what made Media Molecule offer you the job?

Well, at least you can get to work on your “2009 DLC request list”. If I see Drake’s Fortune, Jak and Daxter, Devil May Cry 4, or Sex and the City DLC, I’ll know who suggested it.
As many have said, confidentiality is going to be the main part of it. “signing legal documents”. Fellow LBP fans, don’t expect nearly as many updates (and as early) as it has been on the other site. If you can’t beat them, join them (referring to MM hiring). I hate to sound so negative but usually that is what happens in situations like this. I do congratulate you all on the new job and wish you all the best.

I’m sure that if there’s now a gap for a fantastically designed LBP news fansite with plentiful, well written content, then members of this ever-so clever and creative community will step up to the plate and go forth and create.
It is bittersweet news, but it’s a lot more palatable if seen as opening up lots of opportunities for Tom, James, Mm and the wider community.

Sooo sad. You had the best quality content there is on little big planet. All the other sites are never updated or suck. Also I love your design but part of the reason I use the site is a easy and fun layout.
