At CES 2009 yesterday, Sony Computer Entertainment president Kaz “riiiidge raaacer” Hirai announced that LittleBigPlanet has sold 1.3 million units worldwide. We’re a bit confused by that as we’ve been studying VGChartz.com who claim the figure is 1.82m, but then we’re inclined to believe Sony in this instance.
Anyway… Mr Hirai also revealed that 3.4 million people have downloaded PlayStation Home. That’s over double the number of people who have LittleBigPlanet! Has the entire world gone mad!? We don’t care if Home is free! Everyone should own a copy of LittleBigPlanet! Everyone! Just look how many exclaimation marks are being used in this news item!
Let’s just remind ourselves about these two pieces of software…
PlayStation Home:

Ok, so we’re taking a cheap poke at PlayStation Home. Let’s not forget that according to one of the U.S Producers on LittleBigPlanet, ‘efong’, a LittleBigPlanet Home space is being “worked on”. So at least we can look forward to that coming to Home.
In the meantime - Do you know someone who has PlayStation Home but not LittleBigPlanet? Get on their case and make sure they have a copy of the bestest most awesomerist game ever!
Can’t say I’m that worried. Home is bloody awful. It’s a place for those with far too much time on their hands. It should come wih a “sad” warning. Give me LBP any day
I’m not sure what there is to “cry” about…. As you pointed out Home is a free download. LBP, not so much. It’s like sending an e-mail, it is free and easy so people just take it for granted. It’s not like Home is fun, interesting, or even ground breaking like Littlebigplanet. Queue the violins.
They’re not in competition at all.
I uninstalled Home today because I found this pretty sad. I tried Home the first couple days it was live and I don’t see any reason to ever go into it again.

Wow… this is ridiculous last time I checked Home was a (free) service and lbp was a 70 dollar game! Wow… I’ve really come to expect better from this site!
Home can be downloaded fpr free, maybe that is the problem… :/

I enjoy “Home”....for a little while anyway. But when I want to get my sack pleasing , platforming, “Ohhhh, bring it Biatch”, gaming on, it’s all about LBP baby!! Rock on sack people! Some of your levels are frikking awesome!
