In a comment on the PlayStation Blog, SCEA Marketing Manager Mark Valledor has said that Sackboy avatars (for PSN) are ‘being worked on’.
Here’s what PSN user Kushman666 asked:

Mark then replied:
LOL…we’re actually working on that as we speak.
So, good news all round there then.
It’s pretty unbelievable that Sackboy avatars have not been available yet. Sackboy has been the leading man of he PlayStation brand for many months now, and there are many players who’ll be very pleased to sign in to PSN with Sackboys smiling little face. It has to be said, that some of the existing PSN Avatars are, ahem, questionable:
If you saw this staring up at you in the toilet bowl, you’d probably have a heart attack.
Let’s just call him Mr Hanky.

About time! I got my PSN account a little while after LBP had been released, and I looked through all of the avatars for Sackboy, but I just couldn’t find him. :(
Good to hear. It would be nice if they let us use a LBP in game pic as your PSN avatar the same way you do in the game.
So i definitely t to have a LBP avatar, only a couple of issues with that though. EVERYONE will have the same one unless they allow like 30 of them. and that would be pretty awesome. or maybe if they could let a certain costume be your icon, that would be super cool! just dress yourself up, save the costume, and then use it as your icon, its like your other avatar besides the silly home one.
this would be cool to have it like the emotion ones on little big workshop

Yes!! I’m really glad for this, the Avatars are so boring that are there now.
Ok i mean this is news to me. ii thought they already made an avatar. lbp is bringing ps3 up and none of us want a sausage for people to look at. and it would be cool to have your own dressed up sack boy as your avatar
