Big pile of homemade sackboys
Jan 25th 2009 - 6:53 PM
The other day we were asking if any of you had been inspired by LittleBigPlanet to get out the scissors and glue, and start creating things. The first email we received was from Paul, who dropped us a line to tell us about his big pile of homemade sackboys… 16 of them to be precise, check them out…

Awesome huh? He also sent us some teaser pics of his soon to be completed custom made Solid Snake sackboy doll, with the promise of updating us when it was complete.

We want one, I bet you do to. Anyone else been creating things?

Awesome, I would love these if I had them…. if only I knew how to make them. (sigh)

do you think Paul would be kind enough to give us creative folks a layout of the design so we can try to make these Awesome Sackboys!! I thought the knitting Sackboy was pretty cool but I have no idea how to knit but this actually looks feasible because I know how to sew. Just post a link or something Please!
Also I noticed that there weren’t any Sackgirls, why not?

I’m currently knitting my own sackboy… it’s not actually that hard, just takes a bit of time and patience, lol…
Those Sackboys do look good, however, I would like to know how they were made!

I’ve been trying to come up with my own pattern for a cloth sackboy so i can make my sackgirl right now, lion ears and all. This is the best handmade fabric sackboy i’ve seen!!! now i wants the pattern… since mine have mutant heads.

Hi guys,
glad you like the sackpeople.
ice blue rhino, there is actually 1 sackgirl, the one with the flower on its head…i gave it a skirt as well after the pic was taken to help it look more girly.
nick - the pattern was made entirely by me, and as a sewing noob (before this i’d never sewed a stitch in my life) I was quite pleased with it. The majority of the ones above were made using an old pattern. Now however with a bit more experience I’ve revised the pattern and it’s alot more accurate now (it was used for the solid snake sackboy).
and to all, yes at some stage in the future I will be making the generic sackboy pattern available to the masses with instructions on how to make your own little guy.
cheers guys

I’ve also made my own sackboy which you can see here - http://shaneandhisdog.deviantart.com/art/Sackboy-Plush-105758748 (I think I’ve posted this before, sorry if I have!). It took me ages just to make one, Paul must have a whole lot more spare time than me! Great job(s) though.

Paul, if i don’t come up with my own before then, just know i’ll be one of the one’s lined up for your pattern! Even though i have some expirance making patterns, mine came out looking like the doll on Lilo and Stich.
So i’ve got fabric and stuffing ready! i just need to pick up silver sculpy for zippers!

This is freaking retarded, so Paul promises us a tutorial and where the HELL is it at. I’m sorry you have like 50 of those sackboys and you dont use a template that you can share with the masses??? I see… you only wanted to get the publicity so you can sell them to us on Ebay when we could make them ourselves for cheaper and could come up with some different materials to use.
